A Day for Signing Beams

Maricopa Unified School District has been working hard on the construction of Desert Sunrise High School! The newly named school celebrated a major construction milestone during a beam signing ceremony on January 6th. Dr. Tracey Lopeman, MUSD Superintendent, hosted the event and asked attendees to sign a powder-coated steel plate – symbolizing the final piece of structural frame needing to be set in place.

Desert Sunrise is being built in three phases. The first phase is scheduled to be complete in the Summerr of 2022. At that time, students will occupy a large portion of the campus – including a two-story classroom building, gymnasium, cafeteria, and 10,000 SF student services building.
